3.Gina Rodriguez

Hollywood beauty standards happen to be skyrocketing and unrealistic at the same time. Most people feel not suitable for this unrealistic beauty and someone already suffering from a chronic disease; these beauty standards can be unachievable. “Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez had to go through the same struggle, but when the symptoms of her thyroid disease went away, she took the first opportunity to enter Hollywood. She said in an interview that:

“You are the best version of yourself. And when that demon comes in and says your thighs are thick, you say, “You know what, demon? Yes they are and I am going to work them. I am going to rock the s–t out of my thick thighs and I am rocking this whole damn city with my thick thighs loving them.”

4.Jearlean Taylor

Jearlean was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, rare cancer when she was just three years old. She was left with two ostomy bags because of the disease and was bullied throughout childhood. However, she decided that she was not going to let the people decide who she was and went in the pursuit of her dream to become a model. Taylor explains that:

“We cannot predict what life will bring us. But more importantly, we cannot allow situations or circumstances to dictate our future. I am living a full and vibrant life”
